How to Leverage Your Gifts for Maximum Potential

Leverage … a simple concept that goes a long way.  It is your ability to use less power for the greatest result … and it's at work in your life more than you know.

Have you ever pulled out a nail with a hammer? Or used power steering in your car?

Maybe you know leverage through mechanisms like investment or negotiation, efficient strategies for greater outcomes.

You may have felt leverage at play when grabbing a side rail while walking up the stairs. Your body intuitively knew that it would take less work to get the same result.

Now, look at your life through the lens of leverage.

How have you used leverage in your life?

How might you use your skill and experience to be a better version of yourself? What have you learned that you didn't know before? How will you leverage your insights for future growth?

This is leverage at work in your life …

  1. Slow down to speed up.
  2. Do more with less.
  3. Achieve grand results.
  4. Live longer.
  5. Feel more confident about making big moves.

What gifts will you leverage to have a result that’s worth the effort?

Follow my 5-step process below to leverage your gifts.

Step 1: Find a quiet space where you will be uninterrupted for twenty minutes. Nature soundscape on noise-canceling headphones can reduce outside noise.

Step 2: Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths. Visualize the earth beneath your feet, the sky above your head, and your spine as the neutral space in between.

Step 3:  As you relax, begin to connect with the word leverage by imagining mechanisms that work effortlessly. Imagine how leverage is created.

Step 4: Connect with your heart, where you discover your greatest gifts. This discovery can include many things … The ability to see details that others miss, emotional awareness to bring insight to relationships, physical capabilities to help others. Whatever your gifts may be, spend time contemplating how to best leverage them for yourself and the world at large.

Step 5: Gently, when you feel complete, come back into the room.
